The Shamrock Plant

This a picture of an actual shamrock plant. According to tradition the shamrock was used by St. Patrick to explain the three persons in the Trinity. In Ireland a bunch of this plant is worn by many people in the lapels of their jackets on 17th March St. Patrick's Day.

I'm using this picture to illustrate how tiny the individual leaves of the shamrock are.The picture is really large but the width of the leaf is only 2 centimeters.

Capital Cities Game

It's our mid-term break here in Ireland this week and I though that some of you would enjoy playing this game and in the process learn something about the countries of the participants in the project.

I realize that the game will be difficult for you because the cities have different names and spellings depending on your language. I'm going to help you a little by giving you the names of the cities that are required in order to complete the quiz. It is essential that you spell these names accurately so that the game will work.

The cities are Madrid, Bucharest, Warsaw, Paris and Dublin but not in that order.

Why not send a comment to tell me what your final score was.
Enjoy the game.

To start the game click on the green flag and if you want to stop at any time click on the red spot on the top right.

Celtic Artwork from Dublin Ireland

We drew our inspiration from examples of Celtic Art especially those used in The Book of Kells one of the world's greatest manuscripts. We marvelled at the degree of skill, patience and concentration that was required by the scribes to produce such magnificent work.

A Roman Helmet.

Our youngest students don´t know who  were  the Celtics but  Roman civilization don´t have secrets for them because we live over the  ruins of an important,   old Roman city: Augusta Emerita. Now they know that Celtic were a people who fought against  the Roman people to defend their territory.

They have also learned that some of those gladiators were slaves who were done during the battles.
The students and their teacher Mª Antonia  want to share with you their contribution to the Celtic Project: A Roman Helmet and the  search of the   biography of a very popular gladiator: Espartaco.

If you visit the following web  will learn a lot about him.

¡¡¡HOLA!!!
